Day Nine

Somewhere between day seven and day twelve, most people who are going to abandon a supplement abandon it. Worth being precise about what that stretch can and cannot answer.

What the first week measures. Two things, both useful. Whether the capsule agrees with you, which mostly reduces to whether it went down with food. And whether the habit sticks, which proves the more demanding half.

What it does not measure. Anything you bought it for. Not a marketing evasion; it follows from how the ingredients are studied. Where an effect turns up in this category at all, it turns up over weeks and not over days.

Why the timing feels right regardless. Seven days is the span we hand to most new things. Painkillers work in an hour. Antibiotics announce themselves in days. New shoes either fit on the first walk or they do not. The expectation carries across even though nothing about this product fits it.

The one same-day exception. Gymnema acts on the tongue rather than through the bloodstream, so the taste effect can arrive on the first dose. Noticing it confirms gymnema is present and working. It establishes nothing about the other thirteen names.

A better question for day nine. Not whether it is working, but whether it has been taken nine times. That question has an answer, the answer is entirely within your control, and it determines whether week four will mean anything at all.

Why the window outlasts the test. Four weeks is one bottle and the shortest fair trial. The window runs sixty days, which leaves room to finish a bottle, think about it, and still act. That gap is the most useful feature of the policy and the reason to hold off on day nine.
